Raj Lakhanpal, M.D., FRCS, FACEP, President and CEO
Dr. Lakhanpal founded HealthAtoZ more than seven years ago. As its original founder and CEO, he has grown the company from his original vision of delivering health and wellness information over the Internet to creating the top online disease management and health promotion programs and tools for wellness and population health management.
With the conviction that people are the key element in improving healthcare through technology, Dr. Lakhanpal has made it his goal to develop an Editorial Advisory Board of the top physicians, nurses and pharmacists in their fields. His focus on clinical excellence and strong in-house editorial, IT and creative teams positions HealthAtoZ as the eminent E-Health solutions provider, earning both professional awards and user praise.
Dr. Lakhanpal is a noted speaker and consultant for helping organizations promote physician and other provider involvement in e-health initiatives and emerging health care technology. He is board certified in surgery in the United Kingdom, and in Emergency Medicine in the United States. Prior to creating HealthAtoZ.com, Dr. Lakhanpal distinguished himself in staff and administrative positions with Team Health and EmCare.
Kanwal Rekhi
Mr. Rekhi is well known in Silicon Valley as a highly accomplished entrepreneur and an angel/venture investor actively focused on helping young entrepreneurs build great companies. He is currently involved at the board level in Exodus Communications, MediaWay, Sierra Atlantic, HealthAtoZ, Vision Software Tools and 123tel. In the past he has been involved with over 20 start-ups in Silicon Valley, including CyberMedia, Apptivity, Zietnet and Ambit Design.
Mr. Rekhi was one of the founders of Excelan, a computer networking company in 1982. In 1985, he was named President and CEO of the company. Excelan went public on the NASDAQ in 1987 and merged with Novell in 1989. Mr. Rekhi stayed with and joined the board of directors of Novell and was named an executive vice president and the chief technology officer of the company. He retired from Novell in 1995. He also served as the CEO of CyberMedia, Inc. from March 1998 till Sept 1998.
Mr. Rekhi was named Entrepreneur of the Year in 1987 by the Arthur Young/Venture magazine. In 1994, he was named to the Board of Advisors to the President of Michigan Tech. Mr. Rekhi was honored with a doctorate in 1997 in Business and Engineering from Michigan Tech.
He is the current president of TiE, a not-for-profit organization based in Silicon Valley that promotes entrepreneurship among the Indus people. He is also on the board of Community Foundation of the Silicon Valley.
Philip P. Gerbino, Pharm.D.
Dr. Gerbino is president of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, which includes the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He is a national leader in the pharmacy profession having served as president of the American Pharmaceutical Association in 1990 and president of the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice 1986-87.
He has served on the United States Pharmacopeial Advisory Panel on Geriatrics and as Chair of the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy. He is a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, a Fellow of the American Pharmaceutical Association Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management and a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. He continues to serve on editorial boards and advisory panels on pharmacy, and medical and health care publications. He has published and lectured extensively and is an accomplished professional chairman and facilitator. He has served as a civilian consultant for pharmacy to the Air Force Surgeon General. He is a consultant in strategic planning and marketing and new business development to pharmaceutical companies and healthcare industries.
Dr. Gerbino earned his B.S. in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He has been part of the faculty and administration of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science for over 25 years. Prior to being named president, he served as dean of the School of Pharmacy and vice president for academic affairs. He also retains the academic title of "Linwood F. Tice Professor."
Robert C. Harris, Jr.
Mr. Robert C. Harris, Jr. is a senior managing director at Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. and head of West Coast technology banking for the firm. Mr. Harris has spent his entire investment-banking career advising technology companies covering a range of fields including storage, semiconductors, systems, networking, software and Internet companies. He has completed more than 200 financing and 100 merger/acquisition assignments.
From 1989 to 1997, he was co-founder and Managing Director of Unterberg Harris, an investment banking and money management advisory firm, which advised a number of successful technology companies including Connor Peripherals, JDS Uniphase, Sybase, and Silicon Graphics. Mr. Harris also co-managed the Unterberg Harris Multimedia Fund, which was an early stage investor in companies such as Exodus Communications, N2K Inc. (CD Now, Inc.) and TUT Systems.
From 1984 to 1989, he was a general partner, managing director and director of Alex, Brown & Sons Inc. where he was responsible for building and managing the firm's West Coast operations. Mr. Harris was previously a partner with Robertson Stephens. Mr. Harris is a member of the Board of Directors of MDSI Mobile Data Solution Inc., SoftNet Systems, Inc., NBC Internet, Inc. and several privately held companies including healthAtoZ.com. Mr. Harris received his BS and MBA from the University of California at Berkley.
HealthAtoZ's board members each own significant stock in HealthAtoZ. Other individual private investors owning significant stock in HealthAtoZ are: Mr. Larry Hollander, Mr. Ed Shea, and Mr. Jay
