Prevention

- Stop smoking. Tobacco smoke contains chemical toxins that accumulate in the bladder.
- Protection in the workplace. If you work with chemicals known to cause bladder cancer, follow safety instructions, and wear protective gear to avoid exposure.
- See your doctor as soon as you see blood in the urine or experience the symptoms of a urinary tract infection.
