Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is the use of anti-cancer drugs to eliminate cancer cells from the body. It is usually given through a needle in a vein (intravenous), where it can circulate through the entire body. This is called a "systemic" form of cancer therapy. Chemotherapy is used in colon cancer as an adjuvant program to help prevent recurrence or if it has spread outside of its site of origin to other parts of the body (metastasized).
