Which Doctor to Consult

Family physicians and dermatologists can diagnose and treat most cases of the non-melanoma skin cancer. Other types of doctors, including internists, plastic surgeons and general surgeons, also have special training in the diagnosis and treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer.
People with melanoma are often treated by a team of specialists that may include a dermatologist, surgeon, medical oncologist, and a plastic surgeon.
