You can help prevent high cholesterol by:
1. Eating a diet low in saturated fat
2. Exercising

Symptoms

High cholesterol does not have visible symptoms. You cannot guess your cholesterol readings by how you feel. Only a health care provider can measure your levels through a blood test.
Unhealthy levels are dangerous and are a risk factor for developing heart disease, future heart attacks and other heart disease complications. If you have high cholesterol, you must be monitored and directed by a doctor.
