Symptoms
 

Palpitations, pounding heart or rapid heart rate

Sweating

Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering

Chest pain or discomfort

Feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded or faint

Fear of losing control, dying or going crazy

 

Symptoms

You need to have at least four of these symptoms to be diagnosed with panic disorder.

  • Palpitations, pounding heart or rapid heart rate.
  • Sweating.
  • Trembling or shaking.
  • Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering.
  • Feeling of choking.
  • Chest pain or discomfort.
  • Nausea or abdominal pain.
  • Feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded or faint.
  • Feeling detached from reality.
  • Fear of losing control or going crazy.
  • Fear of dying.
  • Numbness or tingling.
  • Chills or hot flashes.
