Do You Have Hay Fever? |

If you have the following symptoms and they seem to come every spring or fall, you may have hay fever:
Congestion.
Sneezing.
Itching and dripping nose.
Itchy, watery eyes.

Risk Factors

Allergies can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, gender or socioeconomic status. Allergic diseases are more common in children, but they can start at any age or, sometimes, recur throughout life. Researchers are trying to learn why some people develop allergies while others don't.
Scientists do know heredity plays a strong role. If one parent has allergies, the risk of the child developing allergies is nearly 50 percent. If both parents have it, the risk grows to almost 70 percent.
