Before Your Visit

Before you see the doctor, be familiar with:
- Your smoking history. How many cigarettes do you smoke each day?
- Your breathing problems. Shortness of breath? Coughing? Sputum (phlegm) production?
- Your family history of lung disease.
- Your occupational exposure to chemical fumes or biologically inactive dust, such as silica or cotton dust. For how many years?
